Instant Soul Available at Syracuse Eastside Neighborhood Market
Published June 21st, 2007 in Local Spotlight, VegetablesThere is still time to get down to the opening day of the Syracuse Eastside Neighborhood Market! If the turnout within the first half hour of its opening is any sign, it should do well. I purchased some radishes and a huge bunch of mustard greens. On my way back to the car, an older gentleman asked me how I was going to cook the greens.
“Well, I hadn’t really thought about it yet. How would you do it?”
“I usually use a little bacon, but I know people that use smoked turkey wings too.”
“I’ve got a hambone… that would probably be good.”
“Hey! You’ve got soul! (aside to others) She’s got a hambone! She’s got soul!”
So, clearly, this new market can work magic… if it can give me some soul, then it can surely work for you and the city of Syracuse.
