Seafood Fest 2006

Before we leave summer too far behind, I need to get my photos from Seafood Fest 2006 up. Every year, my family has a big summer picnic based around the eating of seafood: clams, crab, and lobster. Of course there are many many many other options involved. About 65% of the available food is seen below. Notably absent are my Faux Bellinis, made from Prosecco and peach sorbet. Boozy dessert in a glass!

Crab Leg

Chicken wing dip (aka heart attack in a dish - but so yummy), grilling various meats, and the steamer for the seafood:

This was the best corn I’ve ever had. Grown by the father of a friend of my aunt Kathy:

I should note that that is only ONE of the steam trays of clams. I think there were at least three…

I loved all the photos but that last one was especially great, so much detail! It looks like you had a fantastic time.

I have never seen any corn like this… Does it have a special name?

We’ve always referred to the yellow and white kernel corn as “butter and sugar” corn. I don’t know though beyond that what the actual variety might have been that Sue’s father grew.

We always called the two-tone corn “peaches and cream,” but I bet there’s someone out there who calls it “Twinkie Corn.”

Pukka: Simple. Delicious.
