Time for a Change

I have a number of things in the pipeline to write about, including the annual seafood picnic my family had this past weekend. However, things will be hectic over the next few weeks as Joe and I are moving back to the old stomping grounds of Syracuse. We found a great apartment today and will be frantically packing and transporting before September 1st.

So, if you’ve been dying to hear about something food-related in Ithaca, this is your last chance to hear it from me! (Which is not to say that I’ll never be back again, but it just won’t be as convenient.)

I also need to make note of the fact that the new apartment has a kitchen that blows all of the others I have lived in since college out of the water:

New Kitchen!

This is pretty much the exact opposite of the kitchen we have now and I do believe I shall weep while putting things into the drawers and cupboards and the first time I see the gas alight on the range.

I’ve really enjoyed the few years that we’ve been in Ithaca and will definitely miss places like Ludgate’s and the great farmer’s market and various restaurants, but I’m glad to be headed back to Syracuse, which was my birthplace (fun fact: we’re moving to the same street my parents lived on for awhile, which is also just a few blocks away from where I spent the first 2.5 years of my life) and a place I hold near and dear.

I have no doubt that Jennifer and I will form a super power conglomerate of Syracuse food blogging dynamite!

So please stay tuned! Things will be sporadic around here for a short while, but I think it will be better than ever when I return…

Don’t even tell me that the new kitchen beats 2324 15th Street, 2nd Floor, featuring:
    - magnetic poetry
    - the Jesus Furby
    - bats
    - 1/2″ of mold in the freezer
    - baseball-sized holes in the windows
    - the world’s most adorable rice cooker
    - Jon
Because if you tell me that, I’ll know you’re lying.

Jennifer- I will definitely be in touch. Thanks! I need to read back through all of your posts to see what things I have missed out on in the past.

    Jeffy -
FYI - it was 2344 15th St. (photos here, here, and here)

    You forgot to mention:
    - spent tanks of nitrous oxide in the pantry
    - enough bottles and cans left on the back stairway that Matt and I took ourselves out for a fine dinner
    - the fact that the previous tenants had not actually moved out yet when we got there
    - the lack of any dish-doing
    - no elephant trampoline

It truly was a vision of heaven on earth.

Ah, you’re right. I get confused with that and 2324 17th Street where Viv & I lived next.

Hey — good luck with the move. My only Syracuse recommendation is “ask Jennifer” on her blog!

Pukka: Simple. Delicious.
